Don't forget that we are here to offer local, fresh and affordable foods for all your meals, year-round!  

Below is a list of offerings this week from a few of our vendors:

BANDY Woodworks

  • Did you know that BANDY Woodworks is primarily a custom furniture business?  We also do custom cabinetry, built-ins, furniture restoration, and more!  Stop by to talk about the project you've been thinking of for your house/business.

Greek Gourmet Hummus

  • Up to 20 different types of hummus!

Special items for Saturday, April 16th:

  • FLANK STEAK, SKIRT STEAK, HANGER STEAK, & SIRLOINS = all are no-waste, low-cost &  lean beef options for grilling out in the warmer weather!  Any quick marinade will be ultra-flavorful on these quick-cooking favorites!
  • ROAST BEEF of many kinds will slow-cook/braise all day for fall-apart shredded beef on hectic work and school days, with those extra evening sports and activities! 
  • NOW TAKING ORDERS FOR LOCAL GOAT, with a $20 non-refundable deposit, to be picked up on Saturday 4/30 from 5-10 AM, leg roasts, shoulder roasts or stew meat, loin chops and ground meat.
  • REMEMBER if you need more detailed information from your Kennedy Family local livestock farmers, please call the farm directly during the week so we have time to answer all  your questions.  Spring and Summer offer great opportunities to visit our livestock meat projects in action at many 4-H functions!  We always keep you posted on these learning options to answer your questions.
  • Please call in your orders as soon as possible: To place an order with the Kennedys, please call their farm office at (724) 898-2316. Ordering hours are Monday-Thursday 9AM-9PM and Friday 9AM-6PM, or call the market on Saturdays at 412-661-1875.
Kistaco Farm
  • If you're itching for springtime, stop in to see what Vegetable Transplants are ready for your gardens or containers!  This week we will have transplants of:  Cabbage, Broccoli, Red Russian Kale, Blue Scotch Kale, Lacinato Kale, Collards, Red Swiss Chard, Chives and Thyme.  If you are looking for something in particular, just ask!  We will have many more types of vegetable transplants in the coming weeks!
  • Homegrown Apples are winding down, but we still have:  Idared, Red Delicious, and Rome! 
  • We'll also have leaf lettuce, beautiful snow peas, tomatoes, broccoli & more!

Straight Up Mixer

  • The weather is wonderful!  Stop by the market, say hello, and start thinking about warm weather refreshments.  Ginger Beer, Bitter Lemon, and Lime Cordials are available, as are fresh OJ and coffee (for you early morning visitors).  
  • A new shipment of Kew Park coffee has arrived and beans are available again.  Also, we are considering offering cold press coffee extract, if you think you'd like that, please mention it at the stand (we are taking a bit of a poll) and we will see what we do.

Wheel and Wedge Cheese Shop
New cheeses this week:

  • West West Blue from Parish Hill Creamery (VT). A two curd gorgonzola style.
  • Mobay from Carr Valley (WI). Half sheep, half goat separated by a grapevine ash.
