Farmers Market Coop of East Liberty Update

Posted 8/31/2012 7:44am by Val Kennedy.

Update for Saturday September 1, Labor Day Weekend

Hello everyone.  I was not able to connect with the farmers this week.  I am sorry about that, but I do expect the offerings this Saturday to be similar to last week, plus or minus a few items.  Lots of great fresh locally grown fruits and veggies, local meat from the J.L. Kennedy Meat Stand, and lots of other items.  So please come out on Saturday and get some great food for your holiday gatherings.

One additional note, I did hear from Bandy Woodworks that they will not be at the market on Saturday.

Happy Holiday

David Lagnese

The Update (From last week)

I spoke with Brian and he will have a few varieties of shelly beans as mentioned above.  Also they will have fall squash- several varieties will be available. Other items should include sweet corn, zucchini, yellow squash, pickle cucumbers, radishes, green onions, lettuce, swiss chard, green beans and lima beans, swiss chard and peppers.  Fruit wise, they will have mellons (canteloupe, water mellons and honeydew), peaches and apples.  Expect some surprises as Brian visits his Amish farmer friends on Fridays and always picks a few unexpected items.
Kistaco Farm... Will have a variety of fruits and vegetables grown on the farm, including:
Kale Collards
