Farmers Market Coop of East Liberty Update

Posted 8/23/2012 10:02pm by Val Kennedy.

Update for Saturday August 25th

Hello everyone.  Last week was a busy day at the market with the summer growing season in full swing.  There were lots of local mellons, peaches and other fruit, as well as lots of veggies.  And of course the Kennedy's had some very special meat offerings.  The "shelly beans" arrived and apparently sold out quickly.  Both Zang and Greenawalts will have shelly beans this Saturday.  Get them while you can, and check out the article in the PG about them.

Please consider also that this is a great time of year to can tomoatoes and other vegetables.  So pick up those large boxes and baskets of tomoatoes and get busy canning.

See below for the weekly update.
