Farmers Market Coop of East Liberty Update

Posted 5/19/2011 9:02pm by Miranda Combs.
Hello Friends and Neighbors,

The weather is supposed to be beautiful this week so please use that as an excuse to stop by the market on Saturday.  We will have a number of fresh locally grown items available this Saturday:
  • Micro greens
  • Lettuce
  • Asparagus
  • Rhubarb
  • Flower and herb transplants
  • Spring flowers
  • Hanging baskets
  • There may be spinach and ramps (not 100% sure)
Please stop by the Zang, Kistaco and Greenawalt booths.

Please also check out the article that Miriam Rubin wrote on Rhurbarb in today's Post-Gazette Food Section.  Pick some up at the market and try it out one of her recipes.

Eat your rhubarb! Buy a paper!
PA Made Cheese

We started selling locally made cheeses at the market 2 weeks ago.  I am happy to report that they have been a big hit.  I have updated the market website with information on the cheese makers and the cheeses.  Please click on the ling to check it out.

Bike Rack

Please note that we now have one of those cool circular bike racks installed in front of the building.  So bike on in!  Special thanks to Christine Berger from the Mayor's office and Emily Keebler from Patrick Dowd's office who made this happen!

Please visit the market's website for information on the market and all the vendors.  You can sign up for a weekly email update.

The Farmers' Market Cooperative of East Liberty is located at 344 North Sheridan Ave., adjacent to the Home Depot parking lot.  The market operates year round- and is open from 5 AM until 12 noon every Saturday of the year.
